Seriously Spooky Puff Pastry Pumpkins

  •  100g Godminster Vintage Organic Cheddar (sliced)
  • 300g puff pastry dough
  • 12 slices of chorizo (can be substituted for other meats)
  • 1 medium egg
  1. Pre-heat oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper
  2. Flour your surface and rolling pin and then roll out your puff pastry dough
  3. Using a pumpkin shaped cookie cutter, cut an even number of pumpkin shapes from the dough
  4. Using a sharp knife, cut out eyes and nose from half the pumpkins. You can give your pumpkins any face you’d like – the spookier the better!
  5. Slice the Godminster and place a slice in the middle of the solid pumpkins (the base) and then top with chorizo slice and then an additional slice of cheddar
  6. Beat the egg and brush this around the sides of your pumpkin bases
  7. Repeat this for the remaining pumpkin bases
  8. Take your pumpkin faces and lay them on top of the base, taking care to seal the edges with your fingers and/or a fork
  9. Once you have sealed all the pumpkins, brush the tops with the beaten egg
  10. Place on the prepared baking tray and bake for 15 minutes or until the pumpkins turn a lovely golden brown
