Cheese board gift set frequently asked questions
What is a cheese board?
A cheese board is often served after a main meal as a replacement for a dessert and consists of a variety of cheeses as well as various accompaniments including crackers, chutneys and sometimes fruit. It also makes a great meal in itself – just take our Grazing Goodness cheese board set, add some bread and fine wine, and enjoy!
How to assemble a cheese board?
When assembling a cheeseboard, it’s important to make the board look as good as it tastes with a beautiful selection of different flavours, shapes and colours of cheese. Slice the first few pieces of cheese so that guests can start eating right away, but leave some unsliced so people can choose how much they want. You can then decorate the plate with fruit and flowers.
How much cheese per person on a cheese board?
Depending on the size of the group, you should try and account for at least 30g of each cheese per person and around three different types of cheese.
What wine goes with a cheese board?
It’s a matter of taste! Some think that sweet wines go well with a cheese board, others say that a dry white wine will cut beautifully through cheeses with higher fat content. Take a look at our cheese and wine pairing suggestions blog here! We also offer a cheddar and prosecco gift box featuring our favourite pairing of prosecco and cheese.
How to gift a cheese board?
Cheese boards can be gifted as hampers, baskets or boxes for the best gifting impact. Our Grazing Goodness Board is already boxed up and perfectly presented as a gift, saving you time and effort.
Our cheese boards do not contain wooden boards or knives, but they do come packaged in a beautiful recyclable box and contain the most delicious cheese board food products money can buy! We also offer various cheese hampers and baskets too.
How to store me
Our cheeses are organic and contain no preservatives so we recommend refrigeration (or storage in a cheese drawer or cheese pantry if you are lucky enough to have one!). Remove the cheese from the fridge an hour before serving to allow it to warm to room temperature and bring out all the natural flavours.
*Please note, all of our Oak-Smoked Vintage Organic Cheddar is vacuum packed and then hand-wrapped in muslin cloth. Please see FAQ for full details.
