A mysterious, rarely spotted creature, the Bruton Beauty lives out of sight on the Godminster farm, and brings the gift of good fortune to all those she passes. Our original cheddar and a firm favourite, the Vintage Bruton Beauty’s signature smoothness puts it firmly at the heart of the cheeseboard.
ABOUT CHEYNEY’S FORTUNE
An ancient symbol of good fortune, the oak leaf comes from the great Godminster oaks, planted by much-loved friend of the farm, Cheyney. Smokey and mellow, our oak-smoked cheddar is named after the great Godminster oaks, whose leaves are a symbol of good fortune. The cheddar itself is the same gold medal cheddar that goes into our Bruton Beauty, which is then cold smoked over oak chippings sourced from sustainable woodlands.
ABOUT THE HOWLING HOUND
This black dog – a distant cousin of the trusty truffle hound – roams wild on Somerset hills and is a good omen, protector and guide to all those who see it. Bold and rich, this deeply flavoured cheddar’s character comes from real black truffles for a truly special experience. Indulgent and luxurious, this cheddar is overflowing with rich and moreish flavours you would expect from delicious fresh truffles.
ABOUT THE DEVIL’s DANCE
In a nearby village, a mysterious musician played his fiddle at a wedding party. The heat and fire of the dance could only be from the devil’s music, matched by the fiery heat in our chilli cheddar… Bright and fiery, this chilli-flecked cheddar packs a perky punch for those who dare to have a dance with the devil.
ABOUT scarlet Crumb Sunrise
Amid the ancient stone circle, she fills each sunrise with vibrant energy. Though small in stature, her bright spirit colours the sky with a warmth that rivals the morning sun, leaving the horizon glowing as richly as our Red Leicester. Sweet and nutty in flavour with a balance of sweet and savoury notes, this cheese is firm yet crumbly with a satisfying bite.
ABOUT THE mighty middlewick witch
A flair for fun and mischief, this witch would twirl her broom at any moment, sprinkling her magic on anyone in need. You can taste a hint of her magic in every bite of our cheddar cheese: rich and deep in flavour, with a balance of sweet and savoury notes.
All of our cheeses require refrigeration.
In order to enjoy your Godminster organic cheddar cheese at its best, allow it to come up to room temperature an hour before serving to bring out all the lovely flavours.
If there’s any left afterwards then replace the wax as best you can, wrap it in cling film (or cheese paper if available) and refrigerate.
