How much does a wedding cheese cake weigh?
Obviously, the bigger the cake, the more it will weigh. We’ve listed the weights of our wedding cheese cakes below. It’s important to note all of these weights are approximate, as some cheeses may be heavier or lighter – they are artisanal products and each may vary slightly.
- Our largest Cheese Wedding Cake weighs approx. 10kg. Also available in a Truffle Edition which weighs approx. 11.2 kg.
- The Godminster Banquet Cheese Cake weighs approx. 7kg.
- The Godminster Feast Cheese Cake weighs approx. 5.5kg.
- The Godminster Celebration Cheese Cake weighs approx. 2.6kg.
Can I customise my wedding cheese cake?
We do not currently create custom wedding cheese cakes and cannot remove any of the layers. All of our wedding cheese cakes have been carefully designed to be the complete package in both look and taste. Removing layers will often be detrimental to the overall design, so we encourage our customers to embrace the wide variety of British cheeses included.
And having a broad range of cheeses means that everyone at your wedding will rejoice that you’ve included their favourite flavour – our wedding cheese cakes are designed not to disappoint.
How is the wedding cheese cake delivered?
We deliver through a third-party courier DPD, who deliver on a next-day service – meaning your cheese is not left unrefrigerated for longer than 24 hours. Our £15 delivery charge covers a premium, tracked, and timed courier service, which is essential for ensuring the cheeses in your wedding cake are left unrefrigerated for as little time as possible.
We deliver our wedding cheese cakes in insulated polystyrene boxes, with each individual layer wrapped up in its own packaging. In summer and warmer weather, we will include plenty of cool packs and ice bags to keep the cheeses chilled. We do not deliver any of our wedding cakes pre-built, but they are all very simple to assemble. All you need to do is gently stack one on top of the other, and your wedding cheese cake will come together. Please use wedding cake boards or dowels to ensure the softer cheese layers are protected.
Does someone need to be in to sign for the delivery?
Somebody must be available to sign for the cake. The only way the delivery can be left without a signature is if you (the recipient) select that option when contacted directly by DPD (via SMS or Email on the day of delivery). This must be organised between you and DPD directly.
What happens if I miss my wedding cake delivery?
DPD will return your cake to your local depot. You will need to liaise with them directly to reschedule your delivery for the next working day. Please ensure you choose a delivery day that is at least three working days before your event.
Is the wedding cheese cake suitable for vegetarians?
All of these cheeses featured in our wedding cheese cakes are suitable for vegetarians.
Is the wedding cheese cake suitable for pregnant women?
Whilst our Vintage Bruton Beauty Organic Cheddar is suitable for pregnant women, we cannot advise that other cheeses will be. The White Nancy is made from unpasteurised milk, and is definitely not advised for pregnant women.
What allergens are in the cheeses in my wedding cheese cake?
Milk is present in all cheeses throughout the cake. Please check the individual labels on each cheese for further allergens.
When is the best time to order my cheese wedding cake?
We recommend that you order your cake as soon as you are able to, as we require a minimum of three weeks’ notice. On rare occasions, we may include a substitute product if there are unforeseen supply shortages – we apologise should this be the case.
When is the best time to have my wedding cake delivered?

Can I have it delivered to my venue?
We deliver to UK mainland addresses, and we can deliver to your venue if someone is present to sign for the cake. Please note: It’s very important to ensure someone is available to sign for your cake at your venue. We cannot offer a refund if your cake is refused by the venue for any reason.
Does the wedding cheese cake come decorated as in the picture?
All our wedding cheese cakes are pictured decorated using simple garden herbs and strips of raffia, but do not come with these decorations. We do not provide any other decorations, but we recommend that you use any off cuts from your bouquet or florists arrangements to tie the cake nicely in with your floral theme. Pinterest is a great source for wedding cheese cake decoration ideas!
Please note: on rare occasions, we may include a substitute product if there are unforeseen supply shortages. We apologise should this happen.
