We’ve all gone soft at Godminster…

We’re really excited to announce that from Monday work begins here at Godminster on our new soft cheese production house so that soon we will be able to produce all our NEW soft cheese on site!

There will be four cheeses produced; Simply Soft which will be just that, a rich and creamy, soft cheese. Simply Peppered, which…. (you guessed it!) is made with black pepper, Holy Smoked, which is our smoked soft cheese that was named by our twitter competition winner -  George Lloyd, and our tall semi-soft cheese named Alfred’s Tower – so called because it is made in the shadow of the Tower, which is a beautiful folly in Bruton – for more information about the tower  follow the link here.

New soft cheese is not all we’ve been working on, Richard is always beavering away in his development kitchen and we think that he has struck gold with a few quirky creations just recently.  Richard has produced some perfect summer accompaniments – fruit ice lollies using organic fruit from the farm and ice cream, using Godminster organic milk.

We think they’re delicious but we really need to know what you think, so Richard will be trialing his new recipes at the Food & Drink Festival at The Master Builder’s, Buckler’s Hard on Saturday and Sunday. It’s set in an idyllic location and you can enjoy around 30 stalls with the finest local produce and crafts from the New Forest.  As well as great food there will be live music, a fantastic BBQ from noon, and a beer tent, serving some delicious local ales and ciders – as well as the chance to meet Richard of course! We hope to see you there.

Jess.
