We’ve finally been having a little rain here at Godminster – not enough to keep Richard and the team happy, but at least we have had some! On the farm Richard tells me that the under sown peas and barley have improved, the beans are looking really thick and lush and the triticale looks amazing on the new fields that we have expanded into – as you can seen in the photo.
It’s lovely to see the first lilies in the ponds and the first strawberries and broad beans in the fields – a real sign that summer has arrived.
Speaking of new summer arrivals, after months of hard work and planning our new website should be arriving in July and we can’t wait to see what you think.
The website isn’t the only new project on the horizon though. As I mentioned we have been working with a local producer in Wincanton on some new cracker concepts – and it has been a real success. We’re looking at making some digestive biscuits using organic oats grown here on the farm and water and rosemary biscuits using our rosemary grown on the farm, both combined with flour milled down the road in Shaftesbury – taste tests have proved very promising!
