Did you know that 99% of people have no idea how many different named cheeses are made in Britain*? According to research just released by the British Cheese Board almost 1 in 10 Brits don’t know that milk is the main ingredient (not sure what that 1 per cent do think it’s made of… chocolate?!) and the average person buys just two different types of cheese a month. The over 45s are the most adventurous apparently, but still only purchase three types of cheese each month, which means there are an awful lot of absolutely delicious and amazing British cheeses going unappreciated by our reckoning.
British Cheese Week (7 September – 15 September) wants to make sure that everyone is a little more up to speed, and to celebrate it we’re running a special offer throughout the month of September (well, a week’s not long enough in our opinion). We’re offering all three of our cheeses in one pack: handmade Godminster Organic Brie, 200g Oak-Smoked Vintage Cheddar and 400g Vintage Organic Cheddar (in either round or heart shape) for £23.95.
