It’s been a very busy few weeks here at Godminster, well I say here at Godminster, but not a lot of time has been spent here at the Farm! Over the past few weeks we have been all over the South West and this weekend it’s set to continue.
In late August we were in South Dorset for Serenata, running our vodka bar which was really exciting. Unfortunately the weather didn’t play its part so hot chocolate may have been a better drink to concentrate on - but the music was spectacular!
Last weekend we were in Devon for The River Cottage Autumn Fair, which was a really bright and beautiful event. There was an incredibly lively atmosphere, brought to life with face painting, storytelling, falconry displays, cookery demonstrations and live music.
Our new soft cheese was very well received, so well received in fact that we had to re-stock Saturday night to ensure we had enough for the Sunday! The Quince Vodka also got a very positive reception. It’s always very exciting for us all to see how one of Richards’s new recipes or products will be received. Richard produces all manner of wonderful creations in the development kitchen here at the Farm and to see which ones become popular is fascinating.
This weekend we’re performing a miracle – we will be in three places at once! It’s all hands on deck as Godminster will be at The Organic Food Festival, Europe’s largest showcase of all things organic, at Bristol’s Harbourside, and we will also be at both the Frome and Sturminster Newton Cheese shows. You know when there are two cheese shows within a 25 mile radius on the same day that you are firmly in cheese making territory!
Bristol, Frome or Sturminster Newton – we hope to see you there!
