‘Nature repays those who treat her kindly’. It’s simple. It makes sense. It’s written in stone and truly forms the central focus of our entire outlook at Godminster. Godminster Vintage is a range of high quality, organic foods - all incredibly
familiar, yet twisted, tastefully, into the unique. Like any premium product,
their foundations lie in the quality of their raw ingredients. When it
comes to food, organic ingredients are unsurpassable. They are not only tastier, they are healthier for you, too.

We are delighted to tell you that our new website is up and running. This website will remain active so that
our existing customers can give us feedback on our new site. Matured for 12 months, our Vintage Organic Cheddar (£13.75 for 400g) is less crumbly than traditional farmhouse cheddar, and creamier. A perfect accompaniment is our wonderfully sticky Beetroot and Apple Chutney, which is sweet to taste and not too vinegary. The two come together in ‘The Combo’ gift pack (£22.00 for 400g cheese and 235g chutney).
Our range of organic vodkas are infused with seasonal roots and fruits, with Horseradish (£22.00) not only making the basis of a great Bloody Mary (it’s
available as a Bloody Good Mary gift set with Bloody Mary mix - £28.75) but is great for awakening the senses after any feast.
If Horseradish isn’t up your street, try Godminster’s Rhubarb (£22.00) or Blackcurrant (£24.00) infused vodkas to warm up a winter’s day. After a different tipple to share with a loved one? Try the Bloomin’ Bubbles set, featuring Elderflower vodka spirit and English sparkling wine (RRP £39.00). Or try a shot of the vodka topped with the bubbles for a fizzing valentines day.
On the farm, it is ‘housekeeping’ time. The cows have been brought indoors to get cosy and warm for the winter and calving has finished. As hedges get old and a little straggly they need to be cut right back to encourage new shoots for next year. Our ‘coppicing’ activity encourages the growth of large, tall hedges which provide great shelter for wildlife and improve biodiversity by creating different habitats for small mammals and insects. We are also busy coppicing in the woodland. Cutting back the dead wood lets light in and encourages new tree growth.
You will be glad to hear that broad beans and garlic for next year
are already planted. There is light at the end of the polytunnel! |
